What you'll do...

This role is part of Walmart International Communications and reports to the Director of Global Communications, Sourcing. The position is embedded, along with the majority of the Walmart International Communications Team, with the International Support Team located in Bentonville, AR.

What you'll do...

The Senior Manager of Global Communications - Sourcing plays a pivotal role in narrating Walmart's sourcing journey to the world. The ideal candidate would be someone who demonstrates quick, on-the-spot decision-making and is ready to dive in headfirst to ensure tasks are completed successfully.

The Senior Manager of Global Communications - Sourcing will create innovative communication strategies to enhance Walmart's brand and reputation through compelling sourcing narratives and identify opportunities to build executive thought leadership. This role involves building strong relationships with sourcing leaders, understanding their unique communication styles, and proactively addressing their communication needs. As Walmart Sourcing collaborates with various teams such as merchandising, operations, supply chain, logistics, ethics and compliance, the individual in this role must work across teams, bringing the right people to the table to help inform strategy and tactics.

You'll make an impact in this role by:

  • Developing communication strategies for Walmart's sourcing organization, encompassing supplier development, supplier inclusion, sourcing initiatives, innovation, surety of supply, operations, and people and tech.

  • Acting as a strategic advisor to the business.

  • Shaping Walmart's sourcing narrative.

  • Leading press events and media announcements, including executive interview preparation.

  • Counselling on speaking opportunities and interview requests.

  • Partnering with senior sourcing leaders to enhance their thought leadership.

  • Operating with a high sense of urgency.

  • Delivering communication assets that enhance the sourcing narrative.

  • Taking initiative and getting out ahead of challenges.

  • You excel in engaging storytelling, creative thinking, and visionary planning.

  • You are adept at assessing and mitigating risks.

  • You have established relationships with media contacts in retail, sourcing, and other business sectors.

  • You possess experience in supporting executive communications.

  • You demonstrate discipline and organization, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • You have a knack for simplifying complex subjects for better understanding.

  • You have a good grasp of Smart Brevity.

  • You can effectively collaborate with our agency partners.

  • You have a passport with no legal restrictions to travel.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00-$180,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Minimum Qualifications...

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field and 4 years' experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area OR 6 years' experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area. 1 year's supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
