Aerotek Maintenance Manager in Bethune, South Carolina

Description:

  • Must be willing to assess team and help improve the operation; assess the strengths and weaknesses of the team and move them to better positions within the plant as needed
  • Currently the plant needs a leader who can bring more structure and organization to the maintenance department
  • Put in place work orders and tracking
  • LEADER and strong manager who can deliver feedback to the current workers and better the operation
  • Will be over a team of 15+ and they are looking to add more and grow the operation so eventually closer to 25-35 people (includes mt mechanics, mt electricians and waste management team)
  • Will have 6-7 direct reports (team leads)

Key tasks and responsibilities: • Supervises a large Maintenance team made up of Mechanical and Electrical (Automation) Technicians, Wastewater, and Lull Operators working with all business lines, logistics, and QA. • Manages the work and activities of maintenance team leaders, staff, and external resources within a plant so that repair and service activities are completed according to quality standards, accurately, safely, and on-time. • Manages, plans, prioritizes, and schedules maintenance activities (e.g. preventive and curative maintenance programs, shutdowns, or emergency repairs) to optimize OEE, rectify breakdowns and malfunctions and minimize business disruptions. • Owns sustain & improve projects locally. Participates actively on larger investment projects affecting the plant. • Ensures that the assets are maintained in a manner that lowers total cost, and capital is effectively used and managed. Identifies risks concerning critical spares and BCP and ensures action plans are in place to mitigate risk and exposure. • Develops and implements repair and maintenance procedures and manages maintenance system information; monitors the cost and effectiveness of activities to optimize resources, prioritizes spending, and achieves timeliness, reliability, and safety standards. Ensures availability of resources and capacity. Responsible for maintenance spare parts • Conducts root cause failure analysis (RCFA), and failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) during multiple hours of downtime or failure of an asset. Implements corrective actions and looks for continuous improvement activities to reduce downtime and extend the life of key assets. • Researches, evaluates, and recommends new maintenance equipment and tools to enhance the capabilities of the maintenance team. • Evaluates, selects, and manages relationships with external contractors to increase efficiencies (minimize costs) and ensures the organization receives satisfactory standards of service. Develops and sets repair standards, specifications, and audits / inspections of repaired equipment or services. • Manages and controls maintenance costs according to budget. Updates maintenance cost forecast • Owns the plant wide work order computer system – CMMS. Responsible for equipment history, work order planning, scheduling, and preventative maintenance tasks as well as predictive maintenance tasks all documented within the CMMS program utilized by the entire plant.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • MUST HAVE 5+ years of industrial experience in Maintenance Management
  • NICE TO HAVE a degree in mechanical/electrical engineer or sometime of engineer background
  • NICE TO HAVE site project experience
  • NICE TO HAVE management experience in a paper/textile plant is best (most similar environment)
  • DOES NOT WANT anyone from commercial or construction background or pharm/medical (different equipment/processes so doesn't translate well)
  • DOES NOT WANT JOB HOPPY RESUMES
  • Orientations are on Mondays (can't start mid week)
