Your Role:

You will perform a skilled class of either machine tool work, welding or brazing work, bench work (excluding regular letter cutting and decorating) or line repair work primarily involving bench and hand tool work – but could include some simple machine tool work required in making the less difficult repairs and alterations to molds, blanks, bottom plates or finish equipment. Employees classified to this job may spend all of their time performing standard machine tool work or standard bench work or line repairs (usually shift work), or may do a combination machine tool and vise or hand tool work.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Faces molds.

  • Rebores neck ring registers and bottom plate registers.

  • Rebushes necks and noses.

  • Forms bottom plate cavities.

  • Alters neck rings and tips.

  • Mills face and pin clearance.

  • Faces blanks and molds together.

  • Drills vacuum holes in blanks and reams hinges.

  • Performs bench operations such as: stoving seams, refacing corners on neck, repairing neck diameter, repairing pin and joint clearance, repairing dowels, repairing head size, repairing vacuum, fitting side or insert plates, venting and miscellaneous filing, scraping, grinding, etc.

Reporting Relationships:

You will report to the Mold Repair Supervisor or Production Foreman.

Position Requirements:

About You:

  • Must possess an Ontario Machinist License

  • Must be proficient in the use of all shop machinery such as VDF, lathes, mills, radial, drill press, duplicators, grinders, as well as bench work.

  • Experience with reading blueprints and drawings.

  • Ability to use all precision measuring devices (vernier calipers, micrometers, etc).

  • Ability to do own setups and machine to close tolerances.

  • CNC and welding experience are considered to be an asset.

  • Valid Lift Truck License is an asset.

  • Must to have their own tools as required by the Company.

  • Must be physically fit to handle heavy mold equipment.

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • High School Graduate or GED.
