The Customer Service Representative role is based in Cambridge ON and reports directly to the Sr. Dispatch Supervisor.

What you’ll get to do:

  • Respond to customer inquiries via telephone and email.

  • Complete order taking process, data entry, and monitor status of distributed shipments, in addition to offering product information and pricing.

  • Sell additional services by recognizing opportunities to up-sell products, explaining new features.

  • Conduct pro-active outbound calls to customers to optimize/manage demand for deliveries and build positive customer experiences.

  • Work in a team structured environment; collaborate with Distribution team, Sales team, and other ready-mix personnel to execute order/dispatch requirements for all projects.

  • Primary point of contact for logistics or quality-related concerns with the responsibility to investigate/troubleshoot issues, implement solutions and resolve problems, and to escalate accordingly.

  • Responsible for communicating changes in customer order patterns to Supervisor and sales team.

  • Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to communicating and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas. Adheres to all Heidelberg Materials policies and procedures.

  • Perform and supports other duties, assignments, and/or projects as required.

What we are looking for:

  • Must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • Customer service orientation and experience is an asset.

  • Related construction field experience is an asset.

  • Computer proficiency – experience with Microsoft Office and Command Concrete is an asset.

  • Must have excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Must have strong attention to detail.

  • Must be punctual, dependable, and committed to a high level of work ethic.

  • Must be able to work extended hours in a seasonal work driven market.

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced call center.

  • Ability to tactfully and professionally deal with customers both internal and external.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills for dealing with teammates; establish trust and relationships.

  • Strong ability to multitask; simultaneously manage several projects.

  • Sustainable management (i.e. compliance with laws and regulations).

  • Professional competence (i.e. geographical awareness – Southwest Ontario; Kitchener, Brantford, etc.).
