HR Manager The HR Manager position supports the Human Resources Department in implementing initiatives that are strategically aligned to the department and the growth of the company with an emphasis on continuous improvement. Understands the importance of establishing and constantly reinforcing compliance, safety, policy, recruiting and retaining top talent and effectively allocating resources and how HR plays an integral part in driving the success of these priorities. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Works collaboratively with the Global HR team members to promote the consistent approach of HR practices throughout the organization Act as business partner, strategic solution provider, advisor and counselor for the operations leadership team Manage employee relations and ensure that employment actions comply with local laws, requirements, and corporate guidelines Assist both Hourly and Salaried employees with general HR related questions and concerns Maintains updates to site policy manuals as needed to address gaps or lack of clarity in processes. Recommends updates to US policy handbook Supports identification of development opportunities for site hourly and salaried personnel Assists compliance and legal with employee investigations Assists with the internal job bidding program and ensures related changes are made in the HRIS system Assists with policy development and handbook revisions Prepares employees for assignments conducting orientation and training programs Performs exit interviews and summarizes information for final paycheck, collects any Momentive Technologies belongings Must be willing and able to travel to various sites and locations in the Ohio region (travel 5%) Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS: REQUIRED Minimum seven years of progressive HR experience Minimum of three years recruiting experience Experience in maintaining employee data in HRIS Proficient experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) Experience in implementing new strategic HR programs Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations. Working knowledge of PowerPoint, MS Office Suite, Excel PREFERRED ADDITIONAL Previous experience in change management Previous experience in a union environment Previous experience with Workday CRITICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Ability to present training materials to all levels of staff Possess the ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING Minimum of 4 year degree in Business Administration/Human Resources/HS&E SHRM-SCP or PHR certification preferred WORKING CONDITIONS An element of the work will be performed in an office environment located in a manufacturing plant.
