JOB SUMMARY

Global Procurement Manager – Industrial Indirect Goods and Services (MRO)

The Global Procurement Manager is accountable to lead the strategic sourcing and SRM efforts related to O-I’s global indirect spend on manufacturing and equipment related goods and services (MRO, facilities services, spare parts, maintenance and repair, etc.).

This is a completely new role within a recently created global sourcing organization. The Global Procurement Manager will have a key role in helping to develop the strategy, vision, procedures, and tools required to manage O-I’s global indirect industrial spend and supply base. The successful candidate will have a natural drive and determination for creating opportunities, relationship building, change management, and delivering results. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced indirect purchasing professional looking for an opportunity to contribute to a business transformation.

The Global Procurement Manager will function within company policies and procedures while delivering the best possible terms for price, quality, service, and delivery. This includes negotiating contracts, delivering savings targets, developing new suppliers, building and maintaining internal and external relationships, and leading global project teams.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage over $300 million in spending

  • Support and implement commodity strategies for assigned categories: MRO, spare parts, facility services, maintenance, chemical products, engineering services, environmental services, personal protective equipment, motors, mechanical, etc.

  • Collaborate and drive projects through 4 global regions covering over 70 glass manufacturing sites

  • Researching and understanding global and regional market trends

  • Developing and implementing appropriate sourcing strategies

  • Leading and facilitating cross-functional global teams through the application of the strategic sourcing process

  • Developing and executing requests for quotations

  • Negotiating contracts to meet business requirements and ensuring compliance with legal standards

  • Managing supplier performance in order to meet all quality and delivery requirements

  • Researching and understanding global and regional market trends

  • Developing and implementing appropriate sourcing strategies

  • Developing and executing the request for quotations

Deliver savings targets in terms of EBIT (i.e., year over year cost reduction) and cash (i.e., payment terms and inventories).

Identify new sources of supply that will result in cost savings and better overall product offering, including suppliers in low-cost countries.

Lead global, cross-functional teams to leverage buying power and best practices.

Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Engineering or related area. MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of MRO procurement experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of overall procurement experience

  • Excellent negotiation, SRM, and contract management skills

  • Expertise in the application of strategic sourcing process and project management methodology

  • Experience working for an international corporation and leading global project teams

  • Purchasing certification, e.g. CPM or CPSM, preferred

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.

  • SAP experience preferred.

  • Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong skills in financial management and analysis.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Travel required: 25%
