Your Role:

As a Manufacturing Information Systems Analyst you will be participating in the deployment, support, maintenance, enhancement, and process improvement of manufacturing applications. In this role you may be assigned to support specific business units or corporate departments and utilize a variety of computing platforms. In this position you will collaborate with the business, IT colleagues, external partners, and other stakeholders to identify business and system requirements, assess available technologies, and evaluate solution options.

As a Manufacturing Information Systems Analyst you will be expected to have a broad knowledge of information technology culture, procedures, and experience with IT methodologies including project management techniques. In this role you will interact with stakeholders and other experts to deploy the Global Manufacturing Information Systems to O-I’s production facilities. In this position you will provide full life-cycle support, as well as creating system documentation, including operating procedures, functional and technical design specifications, and technical support documentation.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Develop strong internal and external business process enablement relationships and act as a point for demand identification, requirements definition, and execution.

  • Possess a broad understanding of the current technical and manufacturing environments in order to advise the business on what is and is not possible when requests are received.

  • Perform and lead deployments of Global Manufacturing Information Systems to O-I, affiliate, licensee and joint venture production facilities.

  • Troubleshoot, maintain and upgrade core Manufacturing Information systems, applications, databases, and utilities.

  • Scope, implement, test, and deploy new features and versions of core applications, databases, and utilities based on business demand.

  • Propose solutions and upgrades to existing systems based on established portfolio lifecycles.

  • Work closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure technical compatibility and alignment to business requirements, while establishing and maintaining a high level of user trust and confidence in IT’s knowledge and concern for user’s business needs.

  • Work independently and provide functional guidance on systems and processes to junior professionals as requested.

  • Plan, lead, and execute Global Manufacturing Information System enhancements and smaller projects; execute segments of complex larger projects while leading team members and ensuring results meet expectations.

  • Understand project financial data and business linkage.

  • Serve as primary IT contact up to Senior Management levels as a key resource who understands how the customers use the information to drive their business.

  • Address process breakdowns and identify opportunities to automate, streamline or increase efficiency and provide assistance to develop project proposals.

  • Monitor accuracy and quality of own work methods, prioritization, and outputs, as well as the work methods, prioritization, and outputs of team members.

  • Assess, define, and develop solutions to moderately complex problems, generally unassisted.

  • Share information and viewpoints openly and provide mentoring to other team members.

  • Create and maintain detailed and clear end-user and operational support documentation for multiple Global Manufacturing Information Systems.

  • Assist in hiring and training associate and intermediate level Manufacturing Analysts.

  • Provide 24x7 on-call support for the O-I Manufacturing Information Systems portfolio, as required.

  • This position requires an individual who can plan their own work and the work of others, engages in team activities, and works across teams to maximize group goals.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:

You will report to the Manager – IT Manufacturing Systems.

Position Requirements:

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Information Technology or relevant business experience (Intermediate level).

  • Minimum 2 years directly supporting Manufacturing Systems (Intermediate level).

  • 6 years experience in Information Technology or relevant business experience preferred (Senior level).

  • 5 years experience directly supporting Manufacturing Systems preferred (Senior level).

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Moderate travel required for this position: 20% - 25%
