Your Role:

As a Senior Controls Engineer / Architect, you will perform research, development, design, and programming of equipment, networks, and data systems, giving functionality to glass container production lines

This position requires the application of sound theoretical principles to interpret process specifications with vendors/partners and to draw sound conclusions from vendor visits and discussions in support of the overall project needs. The candidate must have a talent for identifying the potential advantages and disadvantages of the vendor technology and for making relevant measurements to provide data and information that drive technical solutions.

This position is expected to have effective communication skills and be a bridge between the various team leaders and vendors. They will need to understand objectives, provide solutions to problems and be capable of preparing appropriate recommendations. This position is also expected to understand vendor technology and equipment performance and must be capable of drawing and presenting appropriate conclusions through technology evaluation reports.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Accountability for complete project execution including team leadership, standard equipment selection and specifications, control panel engineering, SCADA design, PLC and HMI programming, network engineering, data historian integration and site start-up support of integrated systems. Evaluate project/equipment specifications in order to determine optimal machine control and production feedback system architecture.

  • Maintaining and grow solid team relationships with individual engineering teams and operations.

  • Accountable for being the key resource in implementing the organization digitalization strategy on factory production lines.

  • Assist in factory acceptance testing of subject equipment, networks, and data collections systems.

  • Support of projects in the field as required inclusive of installation, secondary acceptance testing, and startup support/training.

  • Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in design, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of production lines, process systems, and software systems.

  • This position requires the ability to successfully execute multiple project responsibilities with minimal supervision.

  • Participate as part of the team developing process or equipment specifications and drawings.

  • Ensure that the functional specifications of the process and equipment are correctly written and appropriately reflect the project’s goals.

  • In conjunction with the procurement function, negotiate and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Be an efficient bridge between the company and the vendor/partner.

  • Provide oversight and direction to the internal or external vendors contracted by the project to provide guidance in vendors’ electrical and process control design and construction services.

  • Facilitate the development of functional drawing and specification packages, providing for installation.

  • Travel required up to 30%, Domestic and International

Position Requirements:

About You:

  • 15 plus years of experience with project execution, standard equipment selection and specifications, control panel engineering, SCADA design, PLC and HMI programming, network engineering, data historian integration and site start-up support of integrated systems.

  • High energy, self-motivated and directed. Work well in a team environment and brings a “can do” positive attitude to the rest of the team

  • Independently performs difficult engineering tasks to completion that may include a variety of complex features, conflicting design requirements, and the need to coordinate the work of others.

  • Written and verbal communication skills in the English language, including the ability to communicate with C-level executives

  • Candidates need to possess excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal skills, and the ability to process confidential information

  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Train others with provided or self-develop materials
