Your Role:

You will load cartons, carriers, partitions onto a carton assembler, carrier erector, and/or partition inserter. You are also involved in overseeing that these machines and line conveyors continue to operate and function as they are designed to do.

Your Responsibilities:

  • You will turn off equipment in case of malfunction and notify the supervisor or repairman.

  • You’ll unjam machines and conveyors by stopping it and removing materials.

  • You must inspect and observe cartons, carriers, partitions for obvious defects, and check for fiber tears. Then notify the foreman of any defects found and record on carton quality check sheet. You will then discard defective cartons to the waste bins.

  • You’ll check the missing bottle detector and counter. Then you will fill the missing bottles and re-serveon line (involves pushing buttons).

  • You’re involved in removing wrap and straps from the pallet load. You will then unload the cartons and carriers from pallets.

  • You may manually fold and assemble cartons and insert interior packing (Pads, liners, partitions, etc.) into assembled outer carton.

  • You will carry glue bags to your work area, and open then dump on bins. You’ll also scoop to fill glue pots making sure that the automatic machines are filled with glue.

  • You must perform carton salvaging.

  • You’ll stack up on assembled cartons for emergency cases.

  • You must attend casepacker by unjamming and making sure it’s operating properly. You may have to notify maintenance or foreman of any problems with equipment.

  • You will have to clean equipment with air hose to keep clean.

  • You must keep your work area clean and orderly.

Reporting Relationships:

You will report to the Shift Foreman.

Position Requirements:

About You:

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.

  • You must be a High School Graduate or have your GED.

  • You must be able to lift 25 lbs. on a regular basis.

  • You must be able to work a rotating schedule, with weekend and holiday requirements.
