Job Description: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations within our transportation company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in vehicle maintenance, preferably within the transportation industry, and will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our fleet.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement maintenance programs and schedules to ensure optimal performance of our fleet of vehicles, including buses, or other transportation vehicles.

  • Oversee a team of maintenance mechanics, Utility Workers and support staff, providing leadership, guidance, and training as needed.

  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance activities, including routine inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.

  • Manage inventory and procurement of parts, equipment, and supplies necessary for maintenance and repairs.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, including those set forth by regulatory agencies such as the Department of Transportation (DOT).

  • Track and analyze maintenance metrics and performance data to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as operations and logistics, to minimize downtime and optimize vehicle availability.

  • Stay informed about industry trends, advancements in technology, and best practices in vehicle maintenance and management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or a related field preferred.

  • Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in the transportation industry.

  • Strong technical knowledge of vehicle systems, components, and diagnostic tools.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with other departments.

  • Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems and other relevant software applications.

  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and compliance requirements, including DOT regulations, is highly desirable.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to maintenance and troubleshooting.

Skills and Knowledge Preferred:

  • ASE certification

  • Ability to obtain a Commercial Drivers' License with a passenger endorsement.

Salary Range of $111,000 - 115,000 (annually) with medical & dental benefits, 401k, paid vacations, paid sick time, paid holidays.
