Job Summary

TestPros is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to generate clear and concise technical documentation that will be utilized by both technical and non-technical personnel. This role involves a wide range of documentation activities and requires a high level of technical proficiency.

Position: Full-time

Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship

Location: Washington, DC/Remote

Clearance: DHS/CBP suitability clearance

Responsibilities:

Gather and translate technical information into comprehensible documents for diverse audiences.

Create, manage, and publish documentation from inception through to publication.

Draft and maintain critical documents for CBP, including but not limited to Concept of Operations, Operational Requirements Documents, and System Design Specifications.

Support the CBP by preparing documents for the IV&V program and developing technical presentations, white papers, and status reports.

Continuously update and refine documentation processes to meet organizational needs.

Educational and Professional Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; preference for degrees in English or a field with significant writing focus.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing.

Must possess an active CBP Public Trust clearance.

Strong writing and verbal communication skills.

Ability to interact effectively with technical subject matter experts to extract essential information.

Experience with creating technical documentation, CONOPS, and strategic documentation.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook) and advanced skills in Adobe and Oracle software for documentation purposes.

Proven capability to comprehend and translate technical specifications into accessible text.

Ability to understand and interpret technical manuals and data effectively.

This role demands a detail-oriented and organized individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of producing high-quality technical documents that meet both regulatory and user requirements.
