Description:

Seeking an ICC special inspector with 2+ years of experience and certificates in structural steel and reinforced concrete certification . Ideal candidates will have prior experience for a geotechnical engineering or materials testing company. Perform testing, inspection, and field observations during construction.

• Perform testing on materials including, soils, reinforcing steel, concrete, masonry, structural steel, fireproofing, metal decking, roofing and asphalt paving

-Inspect and review construction sites for compliance

-Coordinate and interact with contractors in field

• Write Daily Field Reports documenting work performed by the various contractors and indicating compliance/non-compliance with contract documents

• Coordinate with the department manager about progress of projects.

-Ability to lift up to 50lbs to transport material samples, and move nuclear densometer.

-Will be expected to carry nuclear densometer (25lbs) short distances.

-Experience with reinforced concrete preferred

-Experience with Caltrans preferred

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

2 years experience in construction inspection.

Experience with 1 of the following:

• ICC structural steel

• ICC reinforced concrete.

• Nuclear Density Gauge training and certification a plus

• valid driver's license

Nice to haves:

-ACI concrete

• OBOA or WABO certification or able to get it within a few months.

-Caltrans experince

Must have 1 of the following certificates:

• American Concrete Institute (ACI)

• Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I

-Certified in radiation safety and Nuclear Density Gauge operation.

OR ONE of the following ICC Certifications

• Reinforced Concrete

• Structural Masonry

• Pre-stressed/Post-tensioned Concrete

• Structural Steel Bolting

• Structural Steel Welding

OR one of the following AWS-CWI Welding with construction inspection experience A PLUS

OBOA (Oregon Building Officials Association), WABO (WA Association of Building Officials), ODOT Certifications A PLUS
